Parties & Vehicle
This Rental Agreement is between Rent 2 Go LLC ("Owner") and the undersigned renter ("Driver") for the vehicle assigned at pick-up.
Rental Period & Payments
The minimum rental period is 7 days. Daily payments are permitted. Payment credits must be used on the same day they are issued; late payment voids the credit and may incur a late fee.
Grace Is a Courtesy, Not a Right
Every payment is due on the date and by the time set out in this Agreement. Any grace, extension or other leniency Owner offers is a courtesy, not a right. It does not change when payment is due and does not give Driver any leeway to pay late, however often it has been offered before. Owner not enforcing a term, or enforcing it late, is not a waiver of that term.
Security Deposit
A $150 security deposit is required and refunded at the end of the rental provided all rules are followed and the Vehicle is returned without damage.
Renters aged 21–24 pay $350 in total: the $150 refundable deposit plus a $200 young-renter security which is not refundable.
Maintenance & Repairs
All issues, no matter how minor, must be reported immediately to the Owner's Customer Support line. Driver must not attempt repairs. All repairs go through Owner's approved shops. Failure to comply may result in termination.
Travel Restrictions
Driver must stay within a 100-mile radius of Charlotte, NC, within NC or SC. Unauthorized out-of-state travel will incur a $200 fee and may lead to contract termination. Specific restricted areas include: Mount Airy (north), Columbia SC (south), Greensboro (east), and Greenville SC (west).
Vehicle Monitoring
Vehicles may include GPS or telematics devices. Driver consents to their use. The system may disable the engine if boundaries are exceeded or payments are late.
Running the Engine or Tampering with the Tracker to Avoid Enforcement
Keeping the engine running, leaving the Vehicle idling for long periods (including around the clock), or doing anything else to stop the engine from being disabled, in order to avoid paying or to avoid complying with this Agreement, is a material breach of this Agreement. So is disabling, disconnecting, removing, damaging, shielding or jamming the GPS tracker or ignition device, or attempting to. Tampering with the Vehicle or its equipment without the owner's consent may also be a criminal offence, including under N.C. Gen. Stat. § 14-160.4, and Owner may report it to law enforcement. Owner may terminate this Agreement and recover the Vehicle immediately, at Driver's cost.
Living in the Vehicle
Living, sleeping or residing in the Vehicle is not allowed. The Vehicle is for transport only. Using it as accommodation, including keeping the engine running for shelter, heating or cooling, is a breach of contract and grounds for immediate termination and recovery of the Vehicle.
Vehicle Condition & Cleanliness
Driver must keep the Vehicle clean. Smoking in the Vehicle incurs a $150 fee and may result in immediate termination. Failure to maintain cleanliness may result in cancellation of this Agreement.
Tolls & Fines
Driver is responsible for all tolls, tickets, fines, and penalties incurred during the Rental Period.
Accidents
In the event of an accident, Driver must call 911 immediately and notify Owner. Insurance claims require a police report; failure to report may void coverage.
Return Policy
Driver must provide at least 24 hours' notice prior to return. Returning after 10:00am may incur an additional day's charge. Failure to comply may affect return of deposit.
Termination
Owner reserves the right to terminate this Agreement immediately in the event of nonpayment, fraudulent behavior, illegal activity, living in the vehicle, or breach of contract.
Indemnification & Liability
Driver shall indemnify and hold Owner harmless against any loss, damage, or liability arising from use of the Vehicle, except in cases of Owner's gross negligence or misconduct.
Dispute Resolution
Any disputes under this Agreement shall be resolved through arbitration in the jurisdiction where the Vehicle is registered, unless otherwise required by law.
Electronic Signature & Acceptance
Driver agrees that an electronic signature is legally binding and has the same effect as a handwritten signature, including typing their name and submitting this Agreement online. Taking up the service is acceptance of all of these terms and conditions: collecting, driving or using the Vehicle, or paying any rental charge, is acceptance of every term, whether or not Driver has also signed, and continuing the rental after being told of a change is acceptance of that change.
Entire Agreement
This document represents the entire understanding between the Owner and Driver and supersedes all prior agreements.
